Power Shutdown in Tamil Nadu Today (8 October 2026)
Thursday morning, and today’s list is a big one. TNPDCL has planned power cuts in 39 substation areas across Tamil Nadu, and some of them run all the way till 5 PM. If you haven’t checked your area yet, now is the time.
Twenty-two substations get their power back by 2 PM, three by 3 PM, one by 4 PM, and thirteen have to wait till 5 PM. Everything starts at 9 AM. Below is the full list, region by region, with areas and timings.

Vellore and Tirupattur side (10 substations)
This is the biggest group of the day, and all of them run from 9 AM to 2 PM. The Tirupattur ones are marked as substation and line maintenance work.

Tirupattur town is on two lists, and Kurisilapet appears under two substations. So if you live there, don’t assume you’re safe because one list doesn’t have your street.

These six run the full eight hours, so they’re among the longest cuts today.

Peelamedu is the one to watch. It covers Ganapathy Industrial Estate and a busy part of Trichy Road, so shops, workshops and small units there will lose most of the working day. Kovilpalayam’s job is servicing all the 110 kV and 22 kV breakers, which is a bigger task than usual.

These seven are marked “TSD maintenance” in the schedule. The sheet doesn’t explain what that means, and the area column only repeats the substation’s name, so we can’t tell exactly which streets are affected. All seven run from 9 AM to 5 PM.
